The signature discipline of contemporary circus. Climb, wrap, drop. All levels welcome.
Two lengths of fabric suspended from the ceiling of a 1931 Art Deco cinema. You climb. You wrap. You create shapes in the air and drop in a controlled spiral — slowly or at full speed. Aerial fabrics are the signature discipline of contemporary circus, made famous by Cirque du Soleil and performed by major companies worldwide.
At Le Château de Cirque, fabrics are also our most popular class — and our most accessible. No prior experience is required for all-levels and beginner classes. If you can hang from a bar and hold your own weight for a few seconds, you can start today.
For those who have never touched the fabrics. Learn to climb, wrap, and create your first aerial shapes. Slow pace, focus on technique and safety.
Our flagship aerial fabrics class. Beginners and intermediate practitioners together — the instructor adapts content to each student. Ideal if you've taken one or two classes and want to progress at your own pace.
For practitioners with a solid fabrics foundation. Complex figures, sequences, and drops. Foot lock and straddle mastery required.
A professional circus artist originally from Venezuela, Juan teaches aerial fabrics, aerial straps, and mixed disciplines at Le Château de Cirque. His teaching style is patient, precise, and adapted to every level. He coaches in English, French, and Spanish — a rare combination in the Montréal circus scene.
Originally from Québec, Arielle grew up surrounded by the performing arts and was introduced to circus at a young age through her parents' work. As a child, she joined the École nationale de cirque and completed all three training programs there, through to her DEC diploma, specializing in aerial disciplines with a particular affinity for aerial fabrics. It was working alongside other artists, her love of the stage, and the discipline's endless possibilities that led her to make it her career. At Le Château, her all-levels aerial fabrics class is structured and progressive, with particular attention to figure precision and fluid transitions.
Rachael is a highly trained aerial fabrics and rope specialist. She's often found training and working at Le Château, in addition to teaching aerial fabrics.
